1. Who we are
This website, globalinnovativecoaching.com ("the Site"), is operated by Francisco Matos, a sole proprietor doing business as Global Innovative Coaching ("GIC", "we", "our", "us"). We provide executive coaching services to senior leaders, primarily on a referral and invitation basis during our pre-launch phase.
For any privacy question, data access request, or complaint, contact us at franciscoa.matos@gmail.com.
2. What personal data we collect
Data you provide directly
- Contact form submissions. When you submit the "discovery" form, we receive your name, email address, the focus area you selected, and any message you included.
- Email correspondence. If you email us, we receive whatever information you choose to share (your email address, name if in the signature, subject, body).
- Lead magnet downloads. If you request the Emerging Market Leadership Transformation Guide (EN) or the Guía de Transformación de Liderazgo (ES), we may receive your email address through the same form mechanism and add you to a short follow-up email sequence.
- Scheduling (if used). If you book a strategy session through a scheduling tool (currently Calendly, when enabled), the scheduling provider collects the information you enter to book the session — typically your name, email, time zone, and any notes you add.
Data collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs information including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. This is standard for any website and is used for security and to prevent abuse.
- Strictly necessary cookies. We set a small number of first-party cookies to remember your consent choices and to protect the site from spam. See Section 5.
We do not currently run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, ad-retargeting pixels, or any cross-site behavioral tracking.
3. How we use your data and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Respond to your coaching inquiry or question | Legitimate interest in providing the service you requested, and pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) |
| Send you the guide or welcome email sequence you requested | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or using the unsubscribe link in any email |
| Maintain site security, prevent abuse, combat spam | Legitimate interest in protecting the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) |
| Comply with legal obligations (e.g., respond to lawful requests) | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) |
4. Who we share it with (processors and third parties)
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent necessary. Current providers:
- Netlify, Inc. (United States) — site hosting and form submission handling. Netlify's privacy policy.
- Calendly, LLC (United States) — scheduling widget, loaded only when you click the "Load calendar" button in the booking section. If you never click that button, Calendly is not loaded on this site and no Calendly cookies are set. Calendly's privacy policy.
- Email service provider (to be selected — likely ConvertKit or MailerLite) — used to deliver follow-up emails only to subscribers who requested them. The privacy policy of our chosen provider will be linked here when this feature goes live.
- Email inbox provider (Google Workspace / Gmail) — stores email correspondence we exchange with you.
- jsDelivr CDN — serves a lightweight animation script on the Spanish page. jsDelivr is a public CDN that does not set cookies or track visitors.
We do not transfer your data to advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file a website places on your device. We use a just-in-time (contextual) consent approach: we do not interrupt you with a cookie banner when you arrive. No optional cookies are set when you land on the homepage, read the hero, or browse our content. Cookies are grouped into two categories:
- Strictly necessary (always active): a first-party cookie (
gic_consent_v1) that stores your cookie-consent preference once you make one, and the Netlify anti-spam mechanism associated with our contact form. These cannot be switched off because the site cannot function correctly without them. - Functional (consent required, asked in context): when you scroll to the booking section, you will see a small card reading "Ready to book? Let's load the calendar." Clicking Load calendar records your consent and loads the Calendly scheduling widget, which then sets its own cookies from
calendly.comto support the booking flow. If you never click that button, Calendly is not loaded on this site and no Calendly cookies are set. The card also offers a direct link to book oncalendly.comin a new tab — a zero-cookie alternative for visitors who prefer not to load the widget on our site.
Changing or withdrawing your choice. Click the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer at any time. A preferences window opens where you can switch between Enable Calendly widget and Essential only and save your updated choice. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it (GDPR Art. 7(3)).
We self-host our fonts so no font CDN (including Google Fonts) receives your IP address. We do not use Local Storage or session storage for analytics, fingerprinting, or any purpose other than remembering your cookie-consent choice.
6. Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to how we process it.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In the EU, find yours at edpb.europa.eu. In the UK, contact the ICO.
If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may also designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
How to exercise your rights
Email franciscoa.matos@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you'd like us to do. We respond within 30 days (extendable to 60 for complex requests, with notice). We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
7. How long we keep your data
- Contact form submissions and email correspondence: up to two (2) years from the date of your last contact with us, after which we delete or anonymize them, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only the minimum information needed to honor your unsubscribe request (typically a suppression list of hashed email addresses).
- Server logs: rotated and deleted by our hosting provider on a rolling 30–90 day schedule.
8. International transfers
Our service providers are primarily based in the United States. If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, this means your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where applicable) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses as the transfer mechanism. On request, we can provide further information about the safeguards in place.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: HTTPS across the whole site, access controls on our inboxes, and service providers with their own security programs (Netlify, Google, Calendly). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we take it seriously and act quickly if we become aware of any issue.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change whenever we do. For material changes, we'll post a notice on the site or email you if we have your address. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
